Service Description

Our social-emotional development group harnesses the power of play to help children express their feelings and learn to cope with emotions such as sadness, anger, and fear. Through engaging in play, children naturally develop essential social skills like sharing, cooperation, and communication. Benefits of Learning Through Play: Emotional Expression: Helps children articulate their feelings and navigate complex emotions. Coping Mechanisms: Equips children with strategies to manage and cope with various emotions. Social Skills: Encourages the development of sharing, cooperation, and effective communication. Conflict Resolution: Teaches children how to resolve conflicts amicably. Positive Self-Image: Fosters a healthy and positive self-image. Parent Involvement: We provide psycho-education for parents on fostering a positive play experience, including: Offering Praise and Encouragement: Reinforcing positive behaviors. Modeling Proper Behavior: Demonstrating appropriate ways to handle emotions and interactions. Staying Calm During Outbursts: Maintaining composure to help children learn self-regulation. Giving Full Attention: Actively listening and engaging when children speak. Encouraging Peer Play: Promoting interactions with other children to build social skills. Activities: Emotion Identification and Sharing: The clinician will lead an activity that emphasizes the importance of sharing and helps children identify and understand emotions during interactions with peers. Sensory Activity for Emotional Regulation: The clinician will also introduce a sensory activity designed to assist children in regulating their emotions.
