Service Description

Continue our program or join us for the first time. This course is dedicated to enhancing young minds through chess. There are extensive benefits to learning chess: critical thinking, patience, visualization, logic, math, reasoning, planning, consequences, creativity, sportsmanship & socialization. A typical session will consist of engaging chess lessons, skill sheets, chess puzzles, strategy, and supervised play. *Beginners: For BRAND NEW players only; still learning the pieces and unable to checkmate. Topics can include: Piece names/movement, starting position, turn-sequence, piece values, special rules, and checks/checkmates. *Intermediate: The student already knows the basic rules of chess and can complete a game without assistance. Topics can include: checkmating patterns, opening principles, the art of drawing, introduction to notation, early tactics and traps, the strategy of positional play and beginner end-game theories.

Cancellation Policy

When guardians bring their child to the Peach Pit, they acknowledge and agree that their child has permission to freely socialize or participate in activities organized by the Peach Pit. Guardians understand and acknowledge that there are inherent risks associated with these activities, including but not limited to, physical injury, illness, and property damage. Guardians accept full responsibility for any such risks and release The Peach Pit, 07760, its staff, volunteers, and affiliates from any and all liability, claims, demands, and actions arising out of or related to my child’s participation in the club’s activities. Guardians understand that it is their responsibility to ensure that their child follows all safety instructions and rules provided by the Peach Pit's staff and that failure to do so may result in my child’s dismissal from the activities without refund. Guardians hereby waive any right to pursue legal action against the Peach Pit and its affiliates for any injuries, damages, or losses sustained by their child while participating in free social time or activities. By registering my child, I agree to these terms and conditions.
