Nick DelBuono
Hello! My name is Nick DelBuono, and I am a passionate History teacher at Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School. As I enter my second year of teaching this fall, I bring with me both experience and a deep love for educating young minds.
Last May, I graduated with high honors, earning a Summa Cum Laude distinction from Monmouth University. My degree in History/Secondary Education, along with a minor in Spanish, equipped me with a strong foundation in my field. During my time at Monmouth University, I received several notable awards, including the Monmouth University School of Education Secondary Education Student Teacher of the Year Award, the Monmouth University Department of History Future Educator Award, and the nomination for the New Jersey Student Teacher of the Year Award.
I share these accomplishments not to boast, but to emphasize that I am prepared and qualified to pursue my lifelong dream of teaching. Teaching is not just a job for me; it is a calling. I genuinely enjoy interacting with my students and believe in the power of students working together as a classroom community.
My foremost mission is to ensure the success of each and every student I teach. Guided by my personal motto, "Conquer your Mountain," I approach teaching with the belief that it is my duty to help every student overcome their challenges. Each student progresses at their own pace, and it is my responsibility to provide support and guidance tailored to their individual needs. I strive to equip them with the necessary tools for success in their academic pursuits and to cultivate their development as responsible citizens of society.
Recognizing that History may not be everyone's favorite subject, I strive to create an engaging and enjoyable classroom environment for all my students. I believe that learning can be both educational and fun.
That is why I am excited to collaborate with the Peach Pit program, which aims to prepare students as they embark on their high school journey. My goal is to focus on ensuring that your child enters high school and the history classroom with confidence and the skills they need to thrive. With my experience primarily teaching freshmen, I am equipped with valuable tips and tricks to make their first year of high school a rewarding experience.
This class will cover important aspects for students transitioning to high school and their freshman history class. Moreover, the center piece of my curriculum will be to address any concerns they may have; aiming to alleviate their anxieties and equip them with the tools for a successful academic year.
